Barry's Bootcamp

Kim K’s favourite workout is designed for efficiency with interval and strength training to get you a lean and toned body. Sessions burn around 1,000 calories while boosting your resting metabolism by 15 per cent (so you continue to burn calories post-exercise). It works with a combination of weight training and intense cardio, increasing your heart rate and the workouts are a mix of lights, music and energetic people, so it’s not just lifting weights or doing a HIIT session in the gym. The interval training stimulates neurons in the brain and endorphins in your body – making you feel good about yourself. Sessions last 50 minutes and work different muscle groups on different days.

They call it the world’s fastest growing fitness network thanks to its new approach to exercise. It’s a team workout lasting 45 minutes with a simple concept; you’ll be sweating your way around the high-intense circuit with a group of like-minded fitness fanatics. The F45 system has a database packed with 3,000 different exercises so you’re unlikely to ever do the same workout twice. This is beneficial, as you’ll always be training different muscle groups. The skipping alone burns up to 10 calories a minute.

BARE (black workout)

Can’t decide between a night out or a work out? Then this is is the place for you. The darkened room, sweat and pumping music will make you feel like you’re having a heavy night on the tiles, that is, until that is the 50-minute intense mix of cardio and weight training begins. Sessions start with a cardio warm up before it’s straight in with everyone’s favourites - burpees, squats, cycling, sit ups, you name it they’re all here. Workouts burn around 1,000 calories, build lean muscle and burn fat thanks to the weights/HIIT combination. No fads, just hard work, in a fun environment. You’ll feel great, plus you’ll be exhausted after and won’t need that night out either.

Inspired by phenomenon sweeping New York, this hour-long ‘experience’ is a tailor-made bike ride simulation, which works the entire body. The bikes are specially fitted to you so you get the maximum benefit from your work out. What’s more, the studios offer stadium-style seating so there’s not a bad seat in the house. Music is played via the in-house DJ and the instructors sync the rides to the beats of the tunes. Your calories burned depend entirely on how you ride the Flywheel with variables including RPM’s, torq, speed and power. The harder you pedal, the more you burn.

Barre at Define

Having a strong core should be a goal for anyone getting into fitness, which is why this class is tailor-made to give your body the workout it needs. The whole-body workouts boost your metabolism and build core strength using Pilates, and yoga exercises to tone and strengthen your body. If that wasn’t enough, the ‘bounce’ class takes HIIT training to a new level, with trampolines giving you a 20 percent more cardio-effective session, while also relieving stress and tension on your knees. Classes last 45 minutes, burning 400-800 calories.
